Video Wig Review: Caitlyn by Rene of Paris in Coffee Latte

Drinking game! Take a shot every time I say cute. You’re welcome.

I’m not sure starting off these videos in just my bio hair was a good idea; in watching them I now realize how flat it is and feel the need for a topper. But I never did like wearing toppers because the clips don’t feel secure to me and I find them uncomfortable. Still, I always knew wig hair was about 1000x more fabulous-looking than my bio hair, and now I have proof. Boo. I guess my halfway grown-out hair dye isn’t helping things as I think it makes my “roots” look even more flat and stringy than the ends, where it’s still a bit lighter. Also, I am pretty lazy and don’t put much effort into styling…why did I quit wearing wigs again? I forget.

And, I’m not gonna lie – because it’s been a few years since I made videos, I am looking at these and thinking, man have I aged (and no I did not say I was old, just that I’ve aged). It seems after you turn 40, aging becomes exponential; you age 2 years for every 1 you manage to stay alive (I’ll be 46 this July). I can’t perfect myself on video like I can in photos, so this is humbling to say the least. It’s also tempting me to go to a plastic surgeon and get some fillers in those laugh lines, but I’m resisting because I’ve always said I’d not go any further with all that than the Botox I’ve been getting for 5 years. I have no issue with plastic surgery and think people can do whatever they want with their bodies, but it’s all quite expensive and time-consuming and when I start thinking about things like fillers images of Meg Ryan and Madonna start haunting my dreams (no, I do not think Madonna’s face looks good although many people do), so I’m not sure how much farther down that road I want to go than I already have. Poor Meg didn’t go to the doctor one time and walk out looking like she does now; I’m sure that was gradual as the procedures started to pile up. But still – it’s tempting. Help me stay strong, people.

Anyway, here’s the video. It’s rather silly. But having this wig on my head put me in a silly mood. You’ll understand why in a moment.

Disclaimers: I bought this item with my own money and no one paid or asked me to do the review. Opinions are my own.

    • You’re right, when I reviewed this I did it quickly so although I knew the sides and back were short, I didn’t realize HOW short until I was editing the video. Then I was like, um yeah, a LITTLE short?! LOL. Very short indeed. And yes, the hair is long, wish I knew how to style it so it wasn’t so flat but whose hair is perfect anyway?

    • OMG! What a great video. My parents grew up right off Telephone Rd and my grandparents still lived there when I was a kid. I recognized a lot of those places! I think the Prince’s is still there.

There’s also a “Telephone Road” song by Steve Earle.
