Video Wig Review: Amal by Rene of Paris in Macadamia-LR

Amal is very cute, but tricky. Lots of hair flopping around, and a somewhat bulky top. That said, Rene of Paris has really upped their game lately in my opinion. After ignoring the line for what seems like quite awhile, they’ve finally come out with a few new styles and colors and even, it appears, re-tooled some older styles to make them more current. I’ve tried out three ROPs so far – Caitlyn, Amal, and Coco – and have been pleased with them all, even if, as is the case with Amal and Caitlyn, they may not be right for me. They’re still great wigs, and even though the brand-new styles are higher in price than older ROPs, they’re still economical.

Disclaimers: I bought this item with my own money and no one paid or asked me to do the review. Opinions are my own.

  1. This looks really great – so glad you reviewed it. I think the shade and style are really nice and despite what you may think, it looks wonderful on you. Thanks so much!

  2. I’m so glad that you reviewed this one! I have Amal in this color, too, and it’s one of my favorites; it’s fun to see it on someone else in real-time. It looks very natural on you, and you’re absolutely right–you can move it around, and it will eventually fall back into its own opinion of itself. But that natural movement is one of the things that I like about it, as well as the massive volume for the money. (It was voted “Most Voluminous” by my co-workers. Amal really IS a whole bunch of hair.)

(Thank you for the time that you spend on your reviews–they’re very helpful. I was on the fence about Innuendo and gave it a shot after you posted your take on it; it’s another favorite now!)

    • Yeah, I guess that is what bio hair does too, isn’t it? LOL. But you’d expect a wig not to do that…it does help make it appear natural though!

Glad you liked Innuendo; it is such a cute style and so comfortable to boot!

  3. I wish that you had given us a close-up view of the part and hairline…. that’s the most important part of a wig as to whether it looks natural or not.

    • I’m think there are other reviews of Amal by now on YouTube, perhaps one of them shows the top of the wig. I make videos in my spare time and I don’t always remember to add in such details.
